Why should a Christian student apply to your program?
A career in medicine has great potential to be the hands and feet of Christ in a very tangible manner. At our program, residents will actively learn how to implement their faith into their medical practice, rather than troubleshooting the practice once they graduate. Equally important, residency can be very difficult on a person's faith with a lack of community, working a lot of Sundays, lack of regular rhythms to life, etc. So our hope is that in our program, residents will learn how to cultivate their faith in a busy season such as residency, not simply survive residency, but thrive, knowing that Christ is with us in all seasons.
What specific resources are available within your program or community to encourage spiritual growth?
We have a longitudinal curriculum on faith and medicine that is throughout their 2nd and 3rd year of residency. Also, there is a Faith and Medicine portion of the curriculum within each rotation block. Staff that are all believers that will serve as preceptors, supervisors, and mentors.
Do you accept/sponsor visas for international students or medical schools?
Not at this time.
